On December 7 at 7 p.m., at the Great Evening of Opera at Nokia Concert Hall, Estonian opera fans will be able to enjoy Georges Bizet’s “Carmen”, the live opening show of the season of the world famous La Scala Opera-house.
On the Opera Evenings which, as of New Year, will start to take place at least once a month, classical music aficionados will have an opportunity to see performances from the repertoire of the Europe leading opera-houses.
The state of the art equipment of the Nokia Concert Hall shall provide the audience with an opera-theatre-worthy experience and dazzle them with high-tech quality. The fans of classical music will have the chance to see the performances of the most famous opera houses of Europe without leaving Tallinn. On the Evenings of Opera which, as of the New Year, will take place at least once a month, one may enjoy the compositions of various well-known composers.
On January 14 at 7 p.m. Giuseppe Verdi “La Traviata”. The recording of an unforgettable performance of La Scala Opera-House. The leading parts are played by Angela Gheorghiu (Violetta), Ramón Vargas (Alfredo), Roberto Frontali (Giorgio), conducted by Lorin Maazel.
On February 4 at 7 p.m. Giuseppe Verdi “Othello”. The recording of the Salzburg Opera Festival offers a great experience for a novice as well as for a real fan of art music. The leading parts are played by Aleksandrs Antonenko (Othello), Marina Poplavskaya (Desdemona), Carlos Alvarez (Jago) and Barbara Di Castri (Emilia). Conducted by Riccardo Muti.
On March 18 at 7 p.m. Giaccomo Puccini “La Bohéme”. For the first time in Estonia, one can see this spectacular film directed by Robert Dornhelm. The leading roles are played by the dream team of the opera world, soprano Anna Netrebko ja tenor Rolando Villazón.
Tickets for the Evenings of Opera on January 15, February 4 and March 18 at the Nokia Concert Hall cost 200 kroons. The tickets are available as of December 1 at 10 a.m. in the internet shop of Ticketpro www.ticketpro.ee, in the box office of Ticketpro at Solaris and in the box offices of Eesti Kontsert in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Jõhvi and Narva.
